I'm Kaitlyn Hova — an engineering leader, founder, and multidisciplinary creator working at the intersection of AI, frontend systems, and human-centered design.

As co-founder of Hova Labs, co-founder of Canopy (independent third-party contaminant testing for consumer products), and CTO of The A Team Project (AI-powered referral hiring), I spend my days building software that treats both users and engineers like humans. I've led frontend, design systems, and data engineering teams in fintech and AI tooling for 12+ years — shipping payments and checkout experiences, scaling Figma-to-code workflows, and architecting internationalization systems used by teams around the world.

I write here about what I'm actually learning in the field: AI-native engineering practices, design systems, leveling up engineers, creative R&D, and the occasional detour into gardening, neuroscience, or 3D printing.

Outside of tech, I'm a violinist and composer with sound-color synesthesia — I see colors when I hear music, and I've performed and spoken about it at TEDMED and the World Science Festival. I co-created the Hovalin, a 3D-printable acoustic violin, and The Synesthesia Network, a research-recruitment platform for synesthetes.
